Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, c. 1977. Prominent here is Amtrak engine #4935, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built by the Pennsylvania Railroad in Juniata in March of 1943, rated at 4,620 horsepower, and presently on exhibit at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. It's pulling the "Broadway Limited" on its daily sojourn from New York City to Chicago. Wave to the Fireman! Henry C. Westenberger Collection. |
