It apparently takes much longer to fill a water tender than either of us thought. John wanted to see the locomotive pull, which I dont blame him for, so we decided to go back to Hudson. We waited and waited and waited and waited and nothing ever happened. We missed a number of trains on NS, including NS 1069 leading an eastbound intermodal. But, the waiting did pay off in the end. We decided to move back to Brightmark where we found the crew finishing up filling the tender, and 358 sitting on the other end of the crossing. Once the tender was filled, 765 shoved and hooked onto 358, the began to pull back west toward the yard in Hudson. The locomotive gave off a nice steam show as it slowly pulled away from Brightmark. |
