| Here is page eight of a 64-page booklet published by Harry P. Albrecht entitled "World Famous Horseshoe Curve, Altoona, Pennsylvania Railroad." It was first issued in September of 1973. Revised Partial Caption: "Engineer's view looking west, just prior to rounding the Curve, sometime before the turn of the Century. To the [left] is the Kittanning Point passenger station." Note that there are three tracks rounding the Curve in this photo, so it was taken prior to 1900 when the fourth track was added. |
